Holy Week Palm Sunday Holy Thursday Good Friday Danbury CT

Holy Week is one of the most sacred and meaningful times in the Christian calendar—a journey that invites us to walk closely with Jesus through moments of celebration, sacrifice, and ultimately, resurrection. This year, we invite you to take part in a series of special services designed to help you reflect, reconnect, and rejoice.

Palm Sunday: A Joyful Beginning

Our Holy Week journey begins with Palm Sunday, a day filled with celebration and deep meaning. This service commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcomed Him with palm branches and shouts of praise.

As we gather together, you’ll experience a moving Procession of the Palms, uplifting music, and an inspirational message that sets the tone for the week ahead. Through prayer, song, and reflection, Palm Sunday reminds us of the hope and promise that begins this sacred story. Whether you’re a lifelong member or visiting for the first time, this is a beautiful opportunity to come together in worship and community.

Holy Thursday: A Call to Remember and Reflect

Holy Thursday invites us into a more intimate and reflective space. Traditionally, this day recalls the Last Supper—Jesus’ final meal with His disciples—and His powerful example of humility, love, and service.

In this service, we pause to reflect on the depth of Christ’s love and the significance of His final teachings. Through scripture, music, and prayer, we are reminded of the importance of community, grace, and selfless devotion. It is a time to slow down, listen, and prepare our hearts for what lies ahead.

Good Friday: A Sacred Pause

Good Friday offers a quiet and contemplative moment in the midst of our busy lives. Our sanctuary will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., providing a peaceful space for silent meditation and prayer.

This solemn day commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and His death at Calvary. Throughout the afternoon, brief scripture readings will be shared on the half hour, offering gentle guidance for reflection. Whether you stop in for a few minutes or stay longer, this time is yours—to sit in stillness, to pray, and to reflect on the depth of Christ’s sacrifice.

Easter Sunday: A Celebration of New Life

After the solemnity of Good Friday, Easter Sunday bursts forth with joy and hope. This is the celebration of Christ’s resurrection—a powerful reminder of God’s grace, renewal, and everlasting love.

Our Easter service will be filled with vibrant music, an inspiring message, and the joyful voices of the choir in full song. We’ll conclude with a congregational sing-along of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, lifting our voices together in celebration.

Easter is more than a moment—it’s a promise. A promise of new beginnings, renewed faith, and the enduring power of love over death.
