We are thrilled to announce a wonderful lineup of concerts at the First Congregational Church of Danbury. Some of these performances are free, unless otherwise noted. For the free concerts, donations are warmly welcomed to support the participating music organizations.
Danbury Community Orchestra: Foreshadowing Beethoven
April 24 @ 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Before Beethoven changed the course of symphonic music, composers like Luigi Cherubini and Étienne-Nicolas Méhul were already writing music with the kind of drama and energy that we attribute to the music of Beethoven. This program features Cherubini’s Fanska Overture and Méhul’s Symphony No. 1 in G Minor. Admission is free. Donations will be gratefully accepted.
Danbury Concert Chorus: Across the Pond and Back: Choral Music of British & American Composers
May 2 @ 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Featuring choral works by living British and American composers, exploring shared traditions and fresh voices on both sides of the Atlantic. Music by Gwyneth Walker, Eric Whitacre, Dominic DiOrio, John Rutter, Jennifer Tibbetts, Rollo Dilworth, and René Clausen
Admission is free. Donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.

Danbury Symphony Orchestra Young People’s Concert
May 17 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
The Danbury Symphony Orchestra presents a Young People’s Concert, a concert for all ages!
You’ll be inspired by cellist Serena Li, (photo, left) one of the winners of our Student Concerto Competition, who will perform Dvorák Cello Concerto, Movement I.
Music will include The Seahawk, Music from Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jupiter from The Planets,
This family-friendly concert is approximately one hour long.
