The First Congregational Church has launched a new series where Pastor Pat's sermons will focus on the very things we need to combat what is making life these days so negative and hate-filled. Consider them, if you will, the antidotes to rampant egotism, racism, hatred, revenge-seeking and fear-mongering.
These antidotes -- let's call them "Heart Virtues" -- include compassion, creativity, forgiveness, love and humility. Whenever we practice one of these virtues, our heart tells us it just feels right, that we bring ourselves closer to God, and away from the negative barriers that place a wedge between our path and God’s plan for us.
This series began on February 19. This schedule shows upcoming themes as well as our activities for Lent and Easter.
