We Are Danbury’s No. 1 Thrift Store!

Sustainable Jungle has included the Deer Hill Thrift Shoppe and Boutique in its review of the 11 Best Thrift Stores in Connecticut.

Our Connecticut thrift store peers are impressive, but none of them are in Danbury. We are No. 1 in Danbury because of our customers’ enthusiastic support of this vital ministry. (Thank you!) Our customers are fuel for out all-volunteer workers who keep our shelves and racks stocked with high quality merchandise, as well as their friendly, open vibe.

Sustainable Jungle is a space that shares tips, tricks and hacks for a more sustainable life. This is their way changing in a world that faces the daunting task of tackling both climate change and unprecedented biodiversity loss.

They’re wild for wild places and want to contribute to the preservation and protection of these precious things.

We are open Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone: 475-237-0702.

The thrift shop is located at 164 Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury. The entrance faces West Street behind the First Congregational Church. Please follow the signs.

Despite the thrifty prices, our volunteers give the shop the appearance of an upscale boutique. The atmosphere warm and friendly, reminiscent of the corner store where neighbors come in to visit and shop. The thrift shop is an outreach program of the First Congregational Church of Danbury.

Our thrift shop is packed with high-quality clothing, home goods, decorations, books, music, nik-naks, craft items and more. Some of it even have their original store tags! A few of the more unusual items we’ve sold are a crab cage, an authentic Chinese shoulder yoke complete with rice buckets, and even a real harpoon.

We accept donations of clothing, shoes and accessories during our regular business hours on Satudays. All donations must be clean and in good condition. Due to space constraints, we are unable to accept furniture, TVs, microwave ovens or computers.
