What is the Deer Hill Thrift Shop?
The Deer Hill Thrift Shop is an outreach program of the First Congregational Church.
We are open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Our weekly newsletter will alert you to sales events and other news that you need to know about the Deer Hill Thrift Shop. We will say thank you by emailing a $5 coupon that you can use during your next (or first!) visit.
Where is the Deer Hill Thrift Shop Located?
The entrance to the thrift shop is located in the alley between our building and the Harambee Center for Youth.
Despite the thrifty prices, our volunteers give the shop the appearance of an upscale boutique. The atmosphere warm and friendly, reminiscent of the “corner store” where neighbors came in to visit as well as shop.
Our thrift shop is packed with high-quality clothing -- some even have the original store tags. A few of the more unusual items we've sold are a crab cage, an authentic Chinese shoulder yoke complete with rice buckets, and even a real harpoon -- presumably from the whaling ship Pequod. (Or so we were told!)
Please think of us for your donations. All clothing, shoes and accessories must be clean and in good condition. Due to space constraints, we are unable to accept furniture, TVs, microwave ovens or computers.
